The workshop will include hands-on sessions on printing, where you’ll discover how to maintain color integrity from screen to print.

In addition, we’ll survey the works of renowned photographers, offering inspiration and insight into how they use color to craft their unique visual narratives. By the end of this workshop, you will have a deeper understanding of how to see and work with color in your photography, equipping you with the skills to create compelling, vibrant images.

Space is limited to 6 participants.

Workshop Details

This workshop is designed to deepen your understanding of color in photography by offering a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, this workshop will enhance your ability to see, interpret, and work with color in diverse photographic contexts.

We’ll begin by exploring color theory, examining the basics such as the color wheel, harmonies, and contrasts. You’ll learn how colors interact, and how to use them to evoke emotions and convey messages in your photographs. We’ll also discuss how various tools used in creating and processing images are influenced by these color concepts.

Throughout the workshop, we’ll photograph in a variety of locations and times of day, focusing on how to approach color and lighting within the frame. You’ll gain hands-on experience in capturing color effectively under different conditions.

We’ll also survey several color photography projects and bodies of work, paying special attention to how color is used as a central element in the meaning and context of each piece.

In addition, we’ll cover techniques for applying color theory concepts during image processing, helping you create work with deeper meaning and connection.

Finally, we’ll focus on printing images, where you’ll learn to evaluate and understand the impact of color casts, color grading, and color balance in the final image. This section will also include discussions about paper choices and printer settings, ensuring you achieve the best possible results in your prints.
