Dates available
Are there any requirements to come?
For studio days there are no prerequisites or requirements. You just show up and have fun. If you are concerned about the specific topics or technical areas you want to focus on, please don’t hesitate to contact me and we will do our best to answer any of your questions so that you can feel great about your decision to sign up.
What do I need to bring?
For the study hangs, you will need to bring your computer and any images you want to work with. Digital cameras are not required, but Whidbey has some great photography spots. The studio equipment (printers, scanners, etc.) is available for participant use. While we run Macs in our studio, workshops are mostly Adobe-centric or universal software-centric, so Windows-based PC users should have few concerns about compatibility. I also worked for several years at Microsoft and have a lot of Windows experience.
We use a variety of media. If you want to print on alternate substrates, please bring your preferred media.
I love food, what's the deal with the food?
We will have coffee, tea, other drinks and snacks for you to have throughout the day. We will also have lunch from Pickle’s Deli (a Whidbey Island classic). Once you register, I’ll send you some food info so you can pick your lunch and snack options. All snacks and lunch are included in the cost.
What about printing cost?
Printing cost is not includced in the tuition, but I do offer a significant discount off my normal printing cost and charges.
The studio currently has two large format epson printers, up to 44″. I alos have a variety of papers on which to print. When you come up to hangout, you can use the printers, you only have to pay a nomial fee for the ink and paper cost. If you bring your own paper, the cost is slightly less.
On my papers cost is $0.04 cents per square inch. On your you only pay the ink cost, it is $0.03.
So an 8.5×11 sheet of paper is approximately $3.75 and an 17×22 would be $15.
Sales tax is charged on prints.
Do you offer refunds?
For most in-person workshops, payments are due in full at the time of registration. Our approach is that your payment for the program is a commitment to participate, just as it is our commitment to provide the best experience possible. It is a commitment on both our parts.
So, the short answer is we don’t provide refunds on workshops, classes and courses.
If you need to cancel your reservation with more than 60 days’ notice, funds paid are transferable to a future workshop space permitting. With less than 60 days until the workshop, there are no refunds or transfers. There are no refunds or transfers for any reason once the event, class or workshop date has begun. We highly suggest that you get trip insurance to reduce your risk.
