A one-day archival digital printing workshop

This one-day workshop is all about getting the best of the printed image. Each workshop is broken down into two primary components. The first part of the day is spent covering specific aspects of the digital printing process. The second half of the day is spent printing.

Each workshop has a different focus for the first part of the day. Topics may include: substrates, color management, reviewing master photographers, , workflow and editing techniques with Camera RAW/Lightroom, Photoshop, and working with 3rd-party tools. Each workshop has a primary theme for the technical training part of the day. You can find the high level theme listed below by date. I will also reach out prior to the workshop and try to accommodate any specific topics or concepts you might want to see covered in the workshop as time permits.

We will be printing on Epson printers, and all printing and ink supplies are included in the cost of the workshop.

Each workshop is limited to 6 participants. The limited enrollment ensures that everyone attending can get the attention they need to be successful and allow for some flexibility in the content being presented.

There will also be an optional group dinner at one of the local restaurants on the island at the conclusion of the workshop. The cost for this optional event is not included in the workshop fee.

The workshop starts at 9 a.m. and end around 4:30 p.m. each day.  We will take an hour for lunch and have a few breaks to getup and stretch our legs.

If you are planning on staying on the island and making a vacation out of the weekend, there are a number of hotels and B&Bs to stay at on the island, or you can commute back to stay in the Seattle area. You can find out more about where to stay and things to do in and around Langley, Wa here.

You will need to provide your own laptop with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom (optional) both installed prior to arrival. You will also need a collection of images you wish to work with over the course of the workshop.
